This year we ended up with 11 suckers for the Texas Hold em and tried to get them all around the pool table. It was quite a diverse crowd this year with broads, dudes as old as 69, young punks, bald people, people with hair, and homos.  Gator, last year’s runner up, was first man out when he tried to go head to head with Dean the marine – in fact he was out so fast he never got to deal.  Luke was the next one out when he went all in with pocket kings and witzee called with nothing but got the flush on the river (this here is what you call foreshadowing).  A few hands later there was a three way all in and  Shane and Donna hit the bricks.  Pops and Dog (who avoided conflict as long as possible)  were all inned by witzee and were soon all out.  This left 5 for the final table with Doll, Craigy (who was yet to play a hand using the Burnzee strategy), Josey and big stacks Witzee and Dean.  Doll got a good hand and went all in but ran into trouble on the flop and was knocked out.  Craigy with the very short stack went all in (his first play of the game) and doubled up with Deano but Witzee put craig all in and taught him a lesson and knocked him all out.  Josey dropped out next and was happy just to get his money back.  Now it was down to the 2 tough guys – Witzee vs Deano, the winner gets to pound burnzee.  After a few cat and mouse games, Dean went all in with a weak jack-six of diamonds into witzee’s Big Slick (no, not Big Stick).  It was looking bleak for dean but he flopped a pair of jacks and then picked up 2 pair on the turn but the 2 of hearts came out on the river and the Witzee picked up the flush and was the 2006 Texas Hold em champ – sorry no trophy this year.
