Cops: Joint session turns into indecent assault rap

COLLINGDALE - A borough man is under arrest for allegedly sexually assaulting a neighbor.
James "Halfy" Pirato, 44, who resides in a borough apartment, is charged with indecent assault and unauthorized administration of intoxicant in connection with an incident that occurred on June 25.
Around noon that day, police were called to an apartment on MacDade Boulevard for a report of a sexual assault. The alleged victim told police Pirato had asked her if she wanted to smoke some marijuana and she agreed. Afterward, the victim realized that the marijuana might have been laced with PCP and she began to panic.
The victim then became ill, police said. Pirato allegedly started to pull her pants down exposing her lower pelvic area. When the victim tried to pull them back up, Pirato allegedly tried to pull them down again. At that point she kicked Pirato, threw a glass of milk at him and fled, police said.
Pirato was taken into custody on July 1. He was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Lawrence McKeon and released on unsecured bail with orders to stay away from the alleged victim.
Pirato has a preliminary hearing scheduled for July 8 in Collingdale District Court.
