Texas Hold “em Tournament got under way at about 7 PM on Friday night.  We started at the big table with ten players – Denny “the cripple” Cappo, Tony “the Witz” Jacobelli,  Gerry “Pops” Ford, Ted “the Chief” Tiberi,  Joe “ Josey” Howard, Ed “yes Dear” Boudman, Steve “Gator” Wallace, Luke “never bluff” Howard, Karen “Doll” Howard, and Dennis “All in” Cappo Jr.  With the blinds at $1 and $2, there was some feeling out going on at the table until Pops went all in after drawing the flush  - Cripple cappo was foolish enough to call the never bluffs Pops and found himself with a very short chip stack which evaporated after about 2 more hands.  Luke and Chief had some head to head matches with chief getting the better of it but Pops and Quiet Ed were the chip leaders at the table.  Just before the Break, Josey went all in and busted but bought his way back in.  Little Dennis busted shortly thereafter and Witzee was down to about 10 chips – no way the witz is doing the buy in.  After the Break witzee pushed all in with his large stack and ended up going all out.  The players then moved from the Pool table to the Final table.

At the final table the doll was the first to fall as she ran into another one of pops straights.  Ed and Joe were the next to joe as pops continued to build his chip stack and draw unbelievable cards.  The Final 4 was set – Pops with a huge Stack, Gator not too far behind Luke was about half the Pops and the chief was holding onto a tiny stack hoping the others would eliminate each other and he could coast into the money.  After a few rounds with blinds going up every ten minutes and pops slow playing  not a stategy – just he was playing slow, like he does at golf) chief couldn’t hold on.  Now Luke, Pops, and Gator were all in the Money with the chips split pretty evenly split.  Pops continued to get his good hands and pulled pocket aces,  Unfortunately Luke pulled pocket queens and went medieval on pops ass and all inned the old bastard.  Pops called and joined the losers table!  Now it was down to Luke and Gator with Luke up about 4 to 1 in chips and blinds at 100/200. Action was fast and furious and in about 5 minutes Gator went all in after pairing up a king on the flop.  Luke called with a pair of nines and when the nine came up on the river – Luke was the undisputed champ!!  Thanks for the dough – and come again!!
